2002 Infiniti QX4

Overview

Infiniti's QX4 is more than a gussied up Nissan Pathfinder.

A year ago, the QX4 underwent aggressive exterior styling changes, got a new and more powerful engine and additional equipment that absolutely transformed this vehicle into a true luxury sport-utility.

For 2002 the QX4 continues to improve with new interior enhancements and available options.

Model Lineup

QX4 is available with two-wheel drive ($34,150) or four-wheel drive ($35,550).

For 2002, all QX4s come with a refined audio system that retains its 150-watt Bose technology but adds a faster-functioning in-dash six-CD changer and RDS (Radio Data System).

An optional Premium Package ($600) now includes a real wood steering wheel with audio controls as well as a driver's seat with memory and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Chrome alloy wheels ($1600) are available separately.

The Infiniti Mobile Entertainment System can be added with either DVD ($1600) or video cassette player ($1300) and flip-down ceiling-mounted 6.4-inch LCD screen. Other options include a power sliding glass sunroof with sunshade ($1000) and the Infiniti Navigation System ($1000). QX4s with 4WD can be equipped with a Heated Seats Package ($900) that includes a limited-slip differential.

A new feature available for 2002 on 4WD versions is Intelligent Cruise Control ($1,600), an optional system shared with Infiniti's Q45 flagship sedan. The system adjusts the vehicle's speed and distance to traffic in front of the car when the cruise control is operated and reacts to traffic speed changes, enhancing the safety margin for the QX4 driver and passengers. This system combines laser sensors, throttle and brake actuators, keeping a constant distance between the QX4 and cars ahead.

Also new for 2002 are two new exterior colors: Graphite and Stone Beige.
